Ames Civil War Naval Cutlass Navy Sword With Scabbard
For auction is an origina ames naval cutlass and original leather scabbard from the american civil war! Ames was the premier maker fo edged weapons both prior to and during the american civil war.
This naval cutlass was manufactured in 1863. This is a great mid war example of a navy sword from the awr between the states.
Teh cutlass is in excellent condition. The blade is full length, unbent and unsharpened. The ricasso is marked usn / dr / 1863 on one side and ames mfg co / chicopee / mass on the other.
The grip retains its full leather wrap. It has no wire wrap which is correct for a cutlass from this era.
The most remarkable afct about this cutlass is it still retains its 100% original leather scabbard. The scabbard is very strong with no cracks or breaks. It does have some flaking, but considering its age this is very minor. Do not miss this opportunity to own an original mid war naval cutlass from the maerican civil war! $1 to start and on reserve!
